result of your interview
Hi,
Have you finally decided to come to S'pore or decided against it? For a pittance of SGD 4300 pm, I wonder if you will even get an Employment Pass.

A company called me today and they told me that they can offer 4300SGD as salary. They told that it is a 1 year renewable contractual Positon.
I'm an unix administrator from chennai with 6 years of experience. I don't have any idea about the cost of living in singapore.
I need to know if 4300SGD is a good salary to stay in Singapore. What would be the expenses for a person ? Can I save money and send it to India ?
Please let me know.

Good enough for the pass.
Not good enough to survive in the country.

if $4300 is not enough to survive here, then almost half of the people here would have been dead!
What is 'survive'? 2 holidays to europe annually? 3 times a week dine at restaurant? 1 conti car? 1 condo at least?

$4300 is enough for normal singaporeans because most of us have our own house/stay with parents etc, so don't need to worry about accommodation.. but for foreigners they usually have to fork up to $2000 just for rental per month, which leaves him with just $2300.
of course $2300 is more than enough to survive in Singapore for a single person

I heard that too. I'm told you can see a lot of foreigners in BTO estates. No wonder there is talk of oversupply of rental properties. Many are illegally leasing out their BTO flats. Why is no action taken?

2900 isn't so bad. I started out with even less than you when I was a fresh local grad a few years back. We have to work doubly hard to catch up man...
