I ganna the End-of-the-world/Christmas/New Year/Clear Leave season, so your application might be a couple of weeks faster. But all in all, a very long process lah.

It can either be CNB, Police, Prisons, ICA or SCDF since all under Home Team.

Basic Degree with Ns can expect gross salary of $3400.
With honours ard $3600 to $4200 gross.
The salary range also depends on whether you served 2 years or 2.5 years NS. 1 year NS = 1 increment. 2.5 years = 2.5 increments.

If you are not a scholar, just sit back and enjoy the benefits in SPF. Police got lots of nonsense benefits without having to do much work, especially for senior officers. The junior officers (poly/A level grads) do all the saikang. SOs are treated like gods. Also get lots of off days, in addition to the annual leave and public holidays. Got INVEST scheme from day 1 too, so extra 12% salary for free every month.

Ministry of Home Affairs - The 2nd Reading of the Home Affairs, Uniformed Services Superannuation Bill - Speech by Mr Wong Kan Seng, Minister for Home Affairs, 13 August 01

"The mechanism of the INVEST Plan is similar to the SAF's SAVER and Premium Plans. Under the INVEST Plan, MHA will contribute an amount based on a percentage of the officer's monthly salary into an INVEST Retirement Account kept for the officer. It is 7.75 percent for Junior Officers, and 6 percent for Senior Officers, starting from the 7th year of service. Because of the additional component to replace pension, *Police Senior Officers will get a higher contribution rate, that is 11.75 percent from the 1st year of service*."

Approximately how much will Junior Officer and Senior Officer gets for this so called 'Pension' if he retires at age 55?

Assuming he joined the service straight after NS, 23 for Junior Officer, 28 for Senior Officer (4 - 5 years gap since must acquire a degree for this post).
