Lol. I think this poster is definitely not a parent. Imagine paying thousands for a degree education and tell the child "you can drive grab" because its "honest work"...all the nonsensical rubbish.

No degree and in mid 40's therefore I'm not able to land a permanent job for 2 years. I have been taking up contract position and when I do get called up for interview, the employers have doubts that why am i on contract role!? I'm trying to get some income and let my skill be updated!

Singapore employers are discriminating people above 40. All we want is a job but that prove to be hard and depression do crept in and out sometimes.

Yes, even so when you have a family. There are really discrimination around. Easier said than done, it is still better to remain optimistic. Do not let depression find you.

All I can hope is luck. Pray that my resume will not be cast aside and more company will call me up soon.

Are there signs in an interview to signal that interviewer is a bad boss and company is horrible? I keep getting into jobs that seems great at first but after a few months i want to leave. Its really tempting to immediately accept job offer when u are desperate.

If it happens once, yes the boss could be a bad boss. If it happens twice, you could be twice unlucky to have another bad boss. If it is a recurring situation in different jobs and environment, then you could be the problem. Reflect on it.

Smile Setting up your own side business online

Hey guys, I have read a lot of stories of people here unable to find ankons in the market now. Me myself was retrenched in may2018 recently. This was the 2nd time I am being asked to leave from my job even though I am only 34yo. Luckily I did setup a side ecommerce side biz while working full time for the past few years so my income did not drop to 0 straight away.i am now also helping others to setup a similar side business generating maybe 1k/mth or more with 2hrs -3hrs a day spent. Do drop me an email at <deleted by admin> if you are keen to find out more. If you cannot find a job out there, maybe creating a job for yourself may be the next viable option. Thank you
