I was in the same situation as you two months ago. At first I was super elated that I got a job offer from another govt agency but was held back cos hr told me no matter whether I moved under movement policy or resign and join as new hire, it will still be the same pay and appointment grade. In the end I didn't take up the offer as the tradeoffs both tangible and intangible are not worth it. So right now I am back to square one where I am still actively looking for other jobs while holding on to my current job.

What position did u apply for? Went there for an interview once. Given a case scenario and required to prepare a presentation based on it. After that have to present to the panel and they will follow up with questions pertaining with what you presented and also the typical interview questions.

I applied for some other position but I didn't get it though. The case scenario was on preparing a training programme for first time manager. There were some constraints given based on the scenario which I cannot rmb. The questions were what kind of pedagogy would you use? What technologies would you use? Sth along this line. The duration to prepare for the presentation is one hour and you can Google if needed. Hope that helps

Hi guys, I got called for an interview. In a catch-22 situation.
I applied for a couple of jobs when I was barely a month into my current one. Both current and the one im interviewing for are in civil service.
Fresh grad mah - gong gong dunno anything. Some career advisors told me not to put my current job down if its less than 3 months and has no relation to the field that you are applying for. So i didnt put lor.
But when I came to this forum, most of the posters say civil service HR damn porous one. They will know. So I thought my application disqualified already. Siao liao. But I never thought that they would call me.
Should I disclose it during the interview? Or act dumb throughout the way until HR/someone asks me about it?
Also, should I tell my current supervisor that I am applying for a new job? But then it will cause me to kena 'marked' right?
Quite important since this job that I applied for has been my dream job. Really stressed ahhh i wish career guidance sessions in Uni had covered this.

By right you should not be going for interview anymore when you just starting your job.
Just be honest and state the facts when you are going for interview.
I think it is not just for civil service. Reference check is a stringent process in private sector.

Does anybody knows the average waiting time where BCA would get back to you after interview?
