Ive received a verbal offer from a ministry and they are running security clearances for me. I had a record due to a squabble and i wonder if this would affect my security clearance

Anybody got any idea how long does the clearance process takes for SPF as civilian officer? I have been waiting for around 2 months now where my last emailed I received from HR which tells me that I had been found successful for a position that I interviewed for but it is subjected to approval, clearance and etc.
