Hi, I am having a downgrade from my title of HRM to HRE as I am not ready for the job yet even after profuse pleadings that I needed help since a year plus ago. And I have been a HR generalist for the last 7-8 years. My management wants to give me a pay cut of 50%, of which my pay will be like a fresh grad pay. Is this reasonable? I have a grad dip in HRM.

Not sure if it is reasonable. But 50% pay cut is a lot.
How much is a fresh graduate pay in your view?

i second the other user. that is freaking crazy. you definitely need to nego more. personally I wouldn't even stop at 2k. a fresh graduate job in HR does not necessarily require someone with a relevant degree in order to do it well.

That depends as most companies look for experienced or a bare minimum hr dip/deg.
Though I just join the hr field after graduating from a bus (hr) degree. It's very important to have some prior knowledge bout sg employment and laws, people-oriented as well.
Salary wise isn't that fantastic given that I'm a grad from hr. And the dept I m working with r all ladies (aunties). What makes it worst is that 4ppl handling a strength of more than 300 in a professional firm.
Not sure if it's worth. What kind of company should a hr professional go?
