Default ground perspectives

Things can be complicated on the ground, different schools have different profiles, therefore have their own strength and areas of improvement.

However, schools do have their quotas on no. of teachers they can have for each IP so it is unfair to make any judgements based on one school's experience.

Lunar New Year is coming, so chill folks.

No min rank. It’s up to schools to nominate.

I know performance does not equate to CEP, but does consistent above average performance help?

most likely.

but i know of ex colleague who had couple of Bs and C+s but got promoted slower than another ex colleague who had C- before n mostly Cs.

I think it is still pretty subjective n dependent on how the school leaders n KPs perceive your potential.

Yes, but there is a soft ceiling. Consistent above average performance will help you if you aspire to be a middle manager, like a HOD. However, if you aspire to become a Director, it is much easier if you are a scholar in the first place.

N it’s not just about raising salary across the board too.

Raising salary will only attract ppl who are in it for the money, not good teachers with passion

They should think of how to make the system more fair, as well as how to better support teachers in terms of admin work, giving teachers proper guidance n equal opportunities. Make every teacher feel appreciated n feel that the system is fair
By right if there is no teachers leaving at the same time. During this pandemic, the landscape on the ground changes.

My wife used to envy my teaching job because I sometimes enjoy half day work, i.e come back after 1pm or so.

Now, with WFH becoming a norm for other industries, I think the teaching job has become comparatively worse. =)

Exactly, even if I leave school at 2pm, it is not without a bag of marking.
Teaching is definitely not a half day job.

Teaching has never been an end by 1 pm, esp if you're in sec sch with all the CCAs, meetings, consultations, etc. etc.

Recently during pandemic, my husband who is now FAJT in his old school saw tremendous changes. Old timer teachers suddenly resign, and the attrition rate also increases. Some of his colleagues who went for cross-level deployment also quit. He receives a lot of offers to teach in schools in Dec, as well as mid-January this year. He is pretty dedicated to his old school so he just stays there. He is feeling a bit down when he saw empty tables in his school where his friends used to be.
