Completed NS
2nd Upper BA (Ed)
Entered service in 2017 Jun

My grades since entering service:

2018: C (promoted to GEO 3 in Oct)
2019: C
2020: B
2021: A (promoted to GEO 4)

My colleague said I am faster than the 'normal' group of people. Is that true? Also, anyone can share what is the step-up between GEO 3 to GEO 4 in terms of responsibilities and expectations, and how to progress upwards to GEO 5?
Considering that you started off with 2nd Upper. I think your CEP must have been raised at some point of time in your service. Looking at your grades I think it also explains the promotion. You are probably 1+ years ahead of an average performer right now.

Hence I’m mentally prepared that my performance grade will be a C next year since I’ve just got promoted. But I’ll still do my best and give my best shot.

Could you advice what do you mean by age ceiling? How does HR identify / look for me? Just curious? As there’s so many educators, surely I am hoping I’m not missed out by the system. :/
Why do you want to keep checking in on this? Since you are in HQ already, likely ur cep will be raised (if u keep doing ur best and performing well), and when u get posted out, u r likely gonna be a KP with high cep. This is probably not the best platform to ask ur questions, since we are not not working in HR and are mostly second guessing.
There are many educators out there who do their best but are not ‘rewarded’ like you in return, and hence the many threads asking why they are not promoted.

Can anyone verify this statement? Those who have been promoted before in April can help to verify if the increment (not annual increment) only comes in at October?
Untrue, April promotees will see their promotion increment starting from April payslip (and the new salary range and point will be visible on pac@gov from 1st April onwards).

As one previous poster said, HQ posting is a once in a lifetime experience that not many people get to experience. I recall that someone once asked senior mgt at a townhall about why promotions seem to be slower/harder at HQ. The reply was also similar. Yes, you are "competing" with other high performing officers and there might be a trade-off between your short-term progression and work experience, but they encouraged all to focus on the long term personal growth. Whether one would agree, that's a different matter altogether.

How much would an average secondary school teacher with approx 5 years experience earn annually? Anyone can enlighten? Thanks

But honestly, I did more work than the others. Just felt unfair that life’s like that. Not that they’re not my peers but why me?

And what are the implications for promoting in Oct?

Got so upset over it, I was pulled to do department work during practicum already while the others focused on their prac. But yet, I’m in this situation...
Nt happy den f off la...u r d worst kind of teacher

Please dun come in with the money in mind. You will earn more outside.
These days, it's alot harder to enter teaching.

Recently got to know that I have been promoted to GE03. What is the usual increment like? Is there a difference between degree and non-degree holders and for males and females? My current pay is around $3000.

May I check how old are you?

I’m getting C,C+,C+,B without NS(Female) but not promoted.
