They only recently increased the deposits, which in turn leads to a greater payout.

Connect plan is a payout, not a bonus.

The amount paid out is based on the amount of money that is already deposited into your connect account.

Out of the 4 years, 3 of those the deposits were made based on the old rates prior to the increment. So the payout will not be that much higher.

the announcement is to make everyone happy first and delay some resignations. the increased deposits don't kick in immediately...only with effect from this year or something?

your payout will be subjected to cpf deduction and taxes too. so the amount you see in your bank account will be significantly lesser

Yup. He brought up a few times whether ranking is a suitable way to appraise teachers' performance. No use one la.

Whole of gov talk talk talk so much but in the end, still using the antiquated CEP system, still using stack ranking for appraisal. Stone Age shitshow.

Didn’t they increase the amount to be put into our connect plan wef from this year? And the payout % also raised? So only this year then we’ll see the increase in the payout?

Yes, as someone mentioned in one of the replies above, the payout is based on what has been put in across the past few years.

Those who got their connect plan last year, did not get any increase in the payout.

The full extent of the payout will only be enjoyed 3-4 years later

Actually, based on what one of the previous posts mentioned, it isn't exactly about salary or performance already, but rather manpower needs.

Schools may be merging, but the amount of programmes and how timetables are like now with FSBB in each school are really stretching every teacher thin. Not sure if all the honest feedback is really reaching the ministry. Or whether the word "excess" is really twisted in meaning somewhat.

Whenever something happens to students and becomes big news, there's a mad rush to plug whatever loopholes they think exist. Must something drastic really happen to a teacher in order for changes to occur?

Unfortunately, Singapore has become so reactive
, especially in the education sector.

I refer us here to the case where the student died while at outdoor camps. Now, all the outdoor camps are run by MOE staff. We will never know when this change occurred but it sure seems reactive.

Can’t be that no one saw how slack the external vendors were? But ya, some of us noticed the trend that once a death occurs, something WILL change.

How is the FSBB situation like in schools? Is it better for students?
