HODship is too shitty.

SHship is sufficient.

I’m not hungry for power.

Thank you for the reply. I have just received news about being promoted to GEO 5. This is my 7th year, which is quite similar to what your progression. Not sure if it is a good thing, with a reduction in allowance and also higher demand kra. For SEO grade, it will be hard to get a B even, esp as an SH/LH.

Congrats.
Yes I totally agree.
I wouldn’t want to be promoted if there’s a choice.
But again, the performance bonus quantum at SEO level is higher.
For a c+, a geo might be getting 2 months, while a seo might be getting 2.5-2.75.

Default Non-promotion

Hi,
I would like to check if anyone has had any success with an appeal for non-promotion before?
This is my progression:
2012 - Completed PGDE
2014 - GEO1A1
2015 - GEO3

My PB since 2014 was C, C+, C+, high C.

I am a 31yo female.

Looks normal to me for your progression. There are females who take 5-6 years before reaching GEO 4 from GEO 3. Plus with excess teachers, HR is slowing down promotion as well.

Default Senior teacher Qn

Hi all,

I joined MOE in 2013 and is now a GEO5.
I am not interested in the leadership track with all the admin load and KP meetings.
I guess the only progression is the teaching track.

may i know how do I become a senior teacher?

There seems to be not much info on it.

Thank you

Since you are already at GEO5, your school or RO would have given you an indication that you can contribute more in areas of mentoring.

Senior teacher is really about mentoring duties. Minimum is To start with being a CT. If you hadn’t had that opportunity, can highlight to your RO.

ST is really about being a Teacher leader. A leader in the teaching track, in sharing your pedagogies and subject expertise, leading professional conversations and the like.

Is it really true that promotion used to be faster some years back?

Yes. If you note the progression of teachers that joined the service in 2009 or earlier, their progression is indeed faster than those who joined in 2011 or later.

I am basing this on information shared by others on this forum about their own progression, as well as my own personal experience.

May I know if anyone can share details about FLP? I understand that there is an extra "allowance" of sorts, and also additional projects to do.
