Thank you for sharing, it is very encouraging! All the best to your next promotion to GEO5!

increased close to $2k over the last 2 to 3 years. I think it's normal pace for
mid career switchers with many years experience. If you can consistently perform at or above your grade
, you can be promoted fast to keep pace with others with same years of working experience.
So 2 years is possible..even 1 year is possible for people with many years experience.

If you haven't gotten an email, you are not a finalist. Try again next year.

there has been a lot of hypocrisy going around for the longest time ever. the most recent one: the desire to develop critical thinking in students as one of the desired 21st CC skills. ironically, teachers are nvr allowed to be 'critical' and instead forced to accept whatever teaching resources that is thrown at them (eg the recent middle east saga). so the 'uncritical' teacher is expected to develop students to become 'critical' thinkers?
we keep coming up with excuses to defend the policy makers who gets away with so many things. this whole system of 'yes man' is a ticking time bomb, unfortunately

Being critical is the product of critical thinking

This is confidential info. If you did not receive any email, time to move on and try again next year?

Why do you want to chase after these titles? It’s a job. Do right by your students and answer to your conscience

Usually email is sent to SLs, in some cases SSD. Supt needs to clear you before you even have a chance to go for the interview. I’ve always wondered how they determine who yo grant the interview given the sheer number of submissions. Nevertheless, like what the others have pointed out, just focus on your teaching. If it comes, it comes.
