People with industry experience bring quite a lot to the table that single-career teachers may never be able to.
For example? Define what you mean by the “quite a lot”

I don’t need to answer to you, I stand by the fact that mid career switchers should not earn less than “thrash grad”

Lol so you say that mid career switchers bring a lot to the table but can't even name one. And then resorts to making petty insults. Really goes to show that mid career people don't deserve what they're getting

it’s no surprising that such attitude will manifest itself in other areas of work, beyond teaching resources.

the issue was never about whether you or MOE own the copyright of the quality teaching resources. rather, it’s about unethical (and incompetent) middle managers taking credit for your hard work in producing quality lesson materials. there’s never been any issue when due recognition is given for one’s work.

of course, the flurry of comments could have come from a single person/contributor, since he repeatedly argued about ‘not shortchanging students of other class’ or ‘organisational excellence’ in the name of ‘snapping’ quality teaching resources of others. well, to that person, it’s actually not rocket science to build quality teaching materials. by right, with sufficient subject mastery and awareness of students learning needs/profile, you can produce one too.
You are quite right. Strangely, it is the tuition centres that safeguard their materials and prevent it from being shared in public domains. Who wants to create resources when it does not even belong to them or credit given when due? Who wants to write a book knowing that it belongs to the readers? Singapore copyright laws should take account of teachers right

Sounds like you don't understand copyright law nor employer employee relationship. It's not just teachers. Unless there's a specific contract, what an employee works on in the course of their work belongs to the employer. A software engineer can't claim the code is theirs just becayse they wrote it while writing an app/program for their employer

I think you need an eye checkup I already said mid career switches bring quite a lot to the table with their industry experience. They also dont bring the arrogance and entitlement of the youngsters. Back then the pay is not as good as what these entitled punks get these days and they still want to complain.

I can't believe we're still on this topic. Go tell someone who can do something about it, or get yourself out of the toxic work environment you can't stand. Why keep whining online when others who clearly didn't have the same experience as you have already helpfully suggested concrete suggestions you can try to make things work better for you?

You are in control of your own life. So take action over the things you can control and make peace with the things you can't. #cce
