So how - did anyone here managed to switch from SME to MNC?

I made a mistake by taking up a job at a start-up. Not enjoying it. Now don't seem to be able to leave that route Applying to MNCs with no luck.

Not easy to switch back MNC as people with SME background considered damaged goods unless is very low level blue collar type. If your SME job is not too long, suggest you delete it totally and just say you decide to take sabbatical.

Yes, it will certainly look good on your CV.
When you and a competitor have the same credentials except previous companies, the one who has better brand names will win.

I also working in a kind of startup, 1st technical guy there after the boss. Except for the ultra low pay nothing to complain about.

And ya, i think MNC people anti the SME people.

The only perk for working in SME "except for the ultra low pay" is that you get to be a "Director" or "Head of Department" within 3 years of leaving school.

Haha, do employers really buy in into sabbatical? Nice euphemism for unemployed - I'll take note of it.

Unfortunately, my SME involvement is already 1.5 years (out of total 6.5 years working career) and counting. Before that worked at A-STAR, not industry. So I guess am totally damaged good in the eyes of MNCs?

Unfortunately 6.5 yrs of non-MNC exp is very hard to switch now unless you know someone senior inside that can vouch for you

I am the guy with the ultra low pay

Its true!

Actually even better, most of the time its like i own the place, only I am here lulz. The best part is you get 3desk, 1table, 2phone lines, 2laptops, 4 led screens and 1 chair. And become "head" of 3 departments.

hmmm, after 1year working here i just realize my job sounds like security guard lolx. Maybe I am head of the security department too! woohoo!
