What's wrong with it? ST has been doing this for so many years. Only the mnc let their structure mess up by promoting diploma holders faster than degree holders.

Yah I also find these MNC people to have very weird ideas. They talk a lot of cheembology until I cannot understand. Last time interview one mnc guy talk about statistics until talk what seepeekay teepeekay then got one even more power talk about pee and pee certificate for project management. But they got no degree. So i told them i cannot give them snr engineer role and he directly reject me saying what he already senior engineer role la cannot downgrade. These young people spend too much time in mnc now stupid already.

I think mnc and sme r different tracks

If u sat ki then mnc all the way
If u half way kenna fired, then u better conform to sme
Ways

I mean different places, different culture

Not neccesarily superior to each other

MNC promote base on capability. Not based on a piece of paper. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Bill gates have all said at one point or another that degree is worthless and is just a piece of paper. Only Singapore GLC values it at such high degree. Nobody else does

Your post sibei cock la.

Obviously those few people who made it big can say whatever they want. If I become a rich fk one day I also can say "People don't even need secondary school education to succeed". Pui la.

You ask yourself, how to get into MNC in the first place? The fine print on the job description already says "good degree". If you don't even have degree, you won't be able to get an interview, don't talk about promotion or whatever sai.

Only gongkia read straits times and see that one article of how this random guy in keppel succeeded without having a degree and believe that anything is possible for them.

big companies such as Fairprice supermarket promote you based on your loyalty. if you work about 5 years as front line sales, clocking 12 hours a day scanning and packing items, u can look to promote to become store manager. work hard!
