Is there still hiring freeze this year? Haven't seen any new managers or seniors so far, all fresh grads only. Most people I know resigned in Oct/Nov instead of Aug/Sep so I hope they hired enough for the peak next year

The worst kind of managers to work with are those single, bui bui, pai kua dinobu. Just because they are undesirable to the beauty standard of the society, they decide to unleash all their hatred to their poor seniors. Everyday without fail will try to push boundaries to ask seniors to work for them like a dog. And if seniors refuse, their SOP phrase will definitely be “then I will have to write accordingly to how you act in your appraisal”. Like come on, just because you’re a loner doesn’t mean I have to stay back and work with you dinobu on a Friday evening. Don’t come and threaten me with the appraisal ******** la.

Anyone bothered renewing their professional membership? Not sure if I should pay since I don't plan to stay in audit and I have to reimburse when I leave the firm. Is it useful in Singapore outside of full set accounting and audit roles?

Which membership? Mine cost about 800+ and I just renewed it since I'm applying for jobs and need it on my resume. Costly but hope it helps to add some advantage.

There is not much diff in pay when u hit M and above for all the top 6 firms, we talked abt annual package.

When you are at M level, you should start build your reputation/networks and work well with supportive partner, rather than finding out manager payscale.
