Original poster here, I previously finished fastrack but feel that I am not competent enough to only have 1 left as A2 before progressing to snr.. anyone can advise whether I should go back as A2 or restart from A1? But restart from A1 means I wasted my time spent in fastrack

gg jhks, they're only hiring contract staff now aside from the usual fresh grad intake

You didn't step up to take on the roles and responsibilities of a senior during your fasttrack?

You can still join another big 4 and restart from A1

Restart from A1 have a strong foundation. No point you move up to senior but you DK anything. "means I wasted my time spent in fastrack" those are sunk cost already. Think about how you can improve and what you need to do moving forward.

9/10 tubes if you are doubting yourself you are already not ready.. don't wait until your Maher ask you to lead and team and handle the engagement alone then you can produce anything. That will be to late, unless you fancy being put in PIP which affects your career outlook in the long run.

OP here, but I also dk whether the knowledge I have is truly insufficient, or is an ok level of knowledge to skip A1…I know how to do most tests and procedures but don’t have exposure on how to do variance analysis and more complex accounts as these are not usually done by interns or they are always escalated to seniors for help
