Very typical especially for mid tier audit firms

I don’t understand why some people are stuck with that mentality.

Firm can request but doesn’t mean you have to OT or work weekends right?

Any OT has to be voluntary and out of the goodness of my heart. It is a favor to you, not an obligation.

i also don't understand especially those idiots who like to send email to clients and cc manager at 3am. They expect client to read the email at 3am?

Some managers also like to contact me while i am on leave or during weekends but I don't install Ms Teams on my phone so they will only receive my reply on Monday.

You either stay long enough to become partner, or die out early and exist into industry.

not saying that qualifications are not useful, but don't see why anyone should use it as a benchmark, i've never heard anyone successful / qualified have to begin a sentence with "Fyi, i got this cert which is prestigious and shows im an expert in this field" to prove anything.

anybody that must qualify themselves in that manner usually got no standard to begin with. the fact you need to search for client in this forum is already a joke, if you are that shen your own clients will be recommending you to other people.

This doesn’t apply only to big 4. If you don’t mind not promoting, you can choose not to do OT. This applies to any firm and there are plenty of such people around. We called them the “deadwood”.

dun understand why people like to cc the entire universe in an email chain.

its like, before the invention of email, if i did not participate in this discussion over phone or whatever method they used back then, its likely i dont need to know. i only want to be cc-ed in the **** that is important. and thats like maybe 1% of all the emails sent during the engagement period. the ones that make it to the manager should be only be sig risk. or maybe those reporting audit progress. even then, i don't even read 3/4 of the crap im cc-ed in.

Because the client can reply them in the early morning when they started work while your colleagues are asleep. Not like they wrote that you need to reply immediately.

Same for your leave/weekends. If it is really urgent, they will call you instead and there is no way you can siam.

You sounds immature. Good luck to you.

Never kena blacklisted or anything. Never received any complaints but praise from managers lol. I know how to play the system
