You're asking too much.
Like one time I processed a candidate. Interview gone well. Offered ASAP.
On boarding etc.

Then guess what.
Candidate reject after all was done...
Cause candidate decided to take up another offer.

If you deem it as common courtesy to tell you...
It's only polite you don't waste people time and consider multiple offer at the same time.

It's a fair world. A company can consider multiple candidates, so do the candidites can consider multiple offers. There is no right or wrong in this. It's a competitive world afterall. Gotta do what's best for ownself if a better offer does come up.

So don't expect HR to give you a courtesy call that you're not offered the position.

Strawberry candidates like Zurich can't even handle not receiving feedback after getting rejected, how to handle the dog hours of audit?

We have to liase with candidate then have to vet their application.
Then have to raised internal process.
Then need to get internal head / time / schedule / availability of meeting room.
Then after interview need to fill up more forms. Need to get bosses to approve.
Bosses also have their things. Not always in office. WFH or just on leave.

Then need to process existing staff payroll. Leave application etc.
Then still need to process exiting staff. Clearance...
Then still need to liase with IT to process asset.

So no, its not possible to go thru every single candidate and tell them.
Sorry you didn't make it
Are you from Big4? This does not look like what Big 4 would do. Payroll is handled by payroll team, and recruitment process/application/liasing with candidates are by the recruiter or recruitment team. Like recruiter (or what they always called themselve talent acquisition) will not have the access to payroll related matters or staff exiting procedures/clearance. Even for reference check, it is usually conducted or handled by a person other than the recruiter. What you mentioned above seems like a one man show in a smaller organisation, where the Big4 will have different/segregated team to handle different functions of human resources aspect of matters.

That’s very misguided, it’s akin to saying that the candidate does not have to respond to reject the offer after taking up another offer.

Such a low class action to word your opinion with 'strawberry candidates' and 'dog hours'. I believe we are all working professionals here and hence no need to be so uncultured to comment on others like this.

Agreed. It works both ways, it is all coming down to how you treat others vs how you wanted to be treated.
