Even though I don't like her, bc she's super vulgar, must admit maybe her marketing skills damn zai lor.

I am contemplating getting my degree finally probably from PSB (will try SIT and SUSS but highly doubt theyll accept my certs).

I guess I was wondering if anyone has any advice for possible routes/training programmes/careers i can embark on without a degree/private degree. I think a management programme of some sort would be interesting but im not sure if they would accept a private degree. Im seeing alot of comments saying private degs are useless/unrecognised so i'm also worried about that.

I'm also learning digital marketing/copywriting/video editing on the side to see if anything sticks.

Thanks i'm immensely grateful for any pearls of wisdom

oh also i highly doubt i will go for govt jobs as im not sure if they accept persons with MH records
Hey! Firstly let me apologise on behalf of the trolls on this thread. They've said really unnecessary mean stuff so please ignore them :')

I'm not from a private uni, but I've seen some private degree holders clinch pretty decent jobs! Give SIT/SUSS a shot before you decide to go for a private degree. It's important that you work really hard during your university days and try to stand out in terms of internships etc.

The barrier to entry for most jobs is a bachelor's degree, unfortunately. I would recommend going for a general business degree (you can choose to specialise in marketing if you're interested). Digital marketing is possibly the most practical skill in the workforce so it'd be good if you can pick that up.

As for management programmes (I recently got in one), unfortunately, I've not seen a private degree holder among my batch. Based on statistics, the chances are pretty slim. However, don't give up hope! Give it a shot, and if it doesn't work, work hard in direct entry roles and I'm sure you'll do well.

All the best!

Don't give him/her false hope lah. SUSS is a local uni in name only. In practice everyone knows it's SIM trying to pin a ribbon on top of their dung of a degree.

Marketing is the most useless major, probably even more so than HR. If TS isn't a chiobu or a Andy Lau hunk he/she can be prepared to be lowballed on salary and earn a pittiance way into their 30s even. Go look at how much entry level digital marketing roles pay, I think even less than HR.

Management programmes? With a private uni degree? Might as well buy Toto and pray to cai shen ye for big huat.

Oi, Facebook is very hard to get in ok. Many rounds of interviews. Even NUS people also very few get in. Plus, everybody in Facebook is good-looking. So looks won't even give her a heads-up in that case. I'm not a marketing major but the fact that it's not impossible for a private degree person to slowly make her way up from Microsoft (US MNC) to Facebook (FAANG) shows that marketing got some use la.

Simmer down mate. I’m MBB/IB oxbridge/lse and someone like you with your shitty attitude will never step into a role such as mine. Your ABB/C at A levels that got you into NUS/NTU/SMU ain’t that big of a deal. In fact, you sound like you’re still in uni and haven’t worked a day in your life. And what’s the big deal about Toto? You bought it for the first time and now you feel like a man? Wow.

Nope.

Going to UOL does not make you a LSE alumni.

Try again.

Can't fault the SIM retard too much lah, confuse LSE for UOL and MBB for Cognizant. If they had a modicum of intelligence they wouldn't be in the ruts they are holding their dicks in their hands.

Sorry to see that you are now replying to yourself. Uni life must be pretty rough and lonely

And no, you don’t have to make yourself feel better when you’re not anywhere close to my level of job prestige. Maybe you could come by as a CTA and we’ll gladly give you some allowance to align some charts Of course, you get to tell all your biz school classmates how big of a deal you are as well!

Aiyo don't need to be so generous, better keep the pocket money your mom gave you so you can get some sweet treats at the IMH vending machine.
