I am contemplating getting my degree finally probably from PSB (will try SIT and SUSS but highly doubt theyll accept my certs).
I guess I was wondering if anyone has any advice for possible routes/training programmes/careers i can embark on without a degree/private degree. I think a management programme of some sort would be interesting but im not sure if they would accept a private degree. Im seeing alot of comments saying private degs are useless/unrecognised so i'm also worried about that.
I'm also learning digital marketing/copywriting/video editing on the side to see if anything sticks.
Thanks i'm immensely grateful for any pearls of wisdom
oh also i highly doubt i will go for govt jobs as im not sure if they accept persons with MH records

Hello! I would suggest going for those one-year full time degree. If you don’t have the money, get a study loan or apply to government for grants.
Don’t listen to these trolls, there are always other avenues, you just got to keep finding.

Pretty naive of you to believe that there is only one guy doing this.
Pretty much everyone who goes to a proper university thinks this way about SIMs.

I don’t see the big deal about getting info local uni? I got 80+ RP and I would just rank myself as just about average in my JC.
Do you have some kind of make-believe fantasy that your degree is prestigious? I’m in a local U and there are as many capable people as there are incapable. And if you were in one you would know too. There is no need to toot your own horn when this is really not the place to brag about, nor should there be any reason to. You must be seriously deluded otherwise. If this actually brings you joy and self-esteem, boy your life must really be boring and miserable.

Exactly. Local uni so easy to get in, means those doggies in SIM must be a special kind of stupid.
Another reason to abuse and spit on them. Thanks for the further reminder.

I'm not from a private uni, but I've seen some private degree holders clinch pretty decent jobs! Give SIT/SUSS a shot before you decide to go for a private degree. It's important that you work really hard during your university days and try to stand out in terms of internships etc.
The barrier to entry for most jobs is a bachelor's degree, unfortunately. I would recommend going for a general business degree (you can choose to specialise in marketing if you're interested). Digital marketing is possibly the most practical skill in the workforce so it'd be good if you can pick that up.
As for management programmes (I recently got in one), unfortunately, I've not seen a private degree holder among my batch. Based on statistics, the chances are pretty slim. However, don't give up hope! Give it a shot, and if it doesn't work, work hard in direct entry roles and I'm sure you'll do well.
All the best!

To TS, no hope is ever lost if you don't believe in yourself. It is true nonetheless you have to accept your disadvantaged position and start learning to be more street-smart i.e. identify demand and supply in every situation you are in. Have confidence and a thick skin, because then cheap shot bullies like our friend Unregistered here would be a time-wasting hassle to deal with in your journey.

hey thank you so much for the advice and wise words. definitely will continue to thicken my skin haha. sending goodvibes and well wishes
