All the best to the juniors applying this year! Some advice from a senior engineer in TAP. Importantly, TAP accepts both engineers and designers (a testament to how much value GovTech place on designers).

On salary, GovTech recently had pay adjustments across the organisation and TAP is affected also. The gist is 13th month is now folded in so just add the 13th month to previously quoted figures and divide by 12 months, and you get a rough idea of what you'll be getting if you get into GovTech through TAP. Other bonuses remain unchanged, can get 5-6 months bonus if you perform well.

TAP gets more competitive each year, they are meant to represent the best of each incoming cohort applying to GovTech (so called "high potential engineers/designers"). About 2000+ applicants apply to TAP each year. And generally CS batches are more competitive nowadays. From this you should have a rough idea of the competition you are facing if you apply to GovTech through TAP.

Generally about 20ish people are offered a place in GovTech through TAP each year. Half of them are bonded to GovTech through various scholarship schemes. The other half enter TAP after passing a rigorous 4-5 round assessment. The final non-technical round with senior management is the hardest and is meant to assess your leadership potential.

As other posters said, if can't get into GovTech through TAP, can always apply for the contract roles if you still wanna come into GovTech! Numerous more positions there.

And of course private sector is always an option (:
