Kinda true, but hop to other industries also need to see can hop or cannot hop.

If no relevant experience or qualifications how to hop???

hop when 1 or 2 years in still OK, atleast not so deep in until the point of no return IMO.

this is the typical route for mnc in the consultant side(civil/mep etc), can confirm. however, as the more recent comments suggest and seeing other colleagues, the progression is slow. engineer to senior engineer can take 6-7 years, another 6-7 for associate. common to see engineers/senior engineers in late 40s/50s. if you recently joined the industry (less than 2-3 years), a good way to progress would be to hop companies within the industry........or leave while you still can

earning 4-5k in 40's/50's is pathetic, big responsibility somemore.

especially in the engineering sector, it's super common. All these uncles in their 40s and 50s and whole lot of them are all engineers. But they do have a lot of experience.
