ST will take non-degree holders, but the path to LAE is longer vs SIAEC. Basic 3k flat +/- before allowances, OT and other bonuses

Hi

I would appreciate if anyone could tell what's the starting salary after the training in SIAEC. the starting of the bond and towards the ending of the bond. what are the different pay components like basic, allowance and OT.

Thanks in advance

I'm from Eagle Services Asia. We shared the same union from SiAEC. So our payscale with SIA LAE is almost similar. In fact our OT multiplier is way higher than SIAEC. If you manage to jump to AFM earlier in tour carree, we can hit 10k before year 5. Currently I'm at my year 3 as an engineer, with ot I'm hitting close to 8k. Work environment is good except for the last retrenchment which only involve technicians. But to get it, it's pretty difficult. You need to pass 8 CAAS paper. There's a long line of ppl trying to get in the company. Even ex LAE guys join our workforce recently. My peers mostly drive bmw/merc -.- . Fun fact I'm driving a mini cooper hehe

Hi. We need to take 8 CAAS paper plus a type course. Fun fact to motivate the guys in here. We achieve a bonus of 4.5 in this covid area. SIAEC probably won't get any bonus or perhaps around 0.5.

Default Do not join SIAEC TRAINEE TECH

Do not join SIAEC trainee tech programme.
Im gonna save you guys 3 years of your life from signing for SIAEC
Reasons:
1) Most importantly, pay scale is **** literally. 1st year 1.7k, come on... other industry pays more. we would have to take so many papers and assessments to get a pay of 1.7k? And most ironically, we don't even apply the stuff that we learnt during our training phase. After training phase 2.1k... freaking pathetic...top management still say gonna look into this matter.. helllooo 2 years alrdy still the status quo remains the same.
2) quote from point 1, other industry technicians work easy job 2.6k. can u tahan the low pay?with irregular shift and hours? at the end of the day u only earn 1.5k bring back home?
u can say u are passionate about aviation, but at the end of the day, money still reigns.
3) u cant run away, u. will need to clean aircraft waste filter, and then u think about the pay u are having.
4) progression is damn slow. even if u have all CAAS papers, there is a long line of queue for you to become an LAE, if there is no slot, you will still remain as an technician. GLHF. at least 8-10 years to become an LAE from being an technician.

Thats all folks, advice to those young chaps with degree, diploma, NITEC, srsly your are better off apply for other company/industry where payscale and progression is way better, you may think that Im losing my mind when im saying this but THESE ARE FACTS.

Thanks me later..

for those who wanna become a aircraft engineer/tech, this is a dying trade. pay is like ****, irregular hours. new modern aircraft like the B787, A350 requires lesser man hours of maintenance as compared to last time. lesser man hours of maintenance means lesser money for companies that deals with maintenance of aircraft. E.g SIAEc.

the path to become a aircraft engineer is a long one. engineer route 3 years plus to train, 5 years bond thereafter. technicians 1 year of training. TBH, technicians no need to train. all train at school all return to school when u go to the field. because most of the senior tech dont even follow the manuals. any tom dick n harry can also do the job. u can ask any worker outside or kid to help u also can finished the job. it is what it is.

i dont want to name the company, this particular company im in SI*** only cares about profit, extremely toxic working environment culture. not a single damn is given to workers welfare. pls avoid at all cost. my passion for aviation is diminished bacause of how this company is treating workers.
I am from the above mentioned place. Management all cmi.only care of their KPIs, asking why job progress slow even when manpower is running lean.Only interested in cutting costs but at the same time promoting their own gang/race/blood into positions of SFM and OMs. Toxic culture. No bonus not to even talk about career progression. Morale in this place at all time low and current batches of technicians are leaving in big groups, feeling disgusted at the way this place is being managed.Management when questioned why all these problems not being addressed, the only answers are, “We are looking into it” and “ No choice”. I just have to endure my last few years here and collect my CPF and go. In short, u are responsible for your own life and career. Plan your future carefully.
