I hope that you are just an outsider, and not an exindeed in govtech currently. If not, the onboarding process has clearly failed.

Govtech handles all the IT stuff across all the public sector, and not just being a software house. What they do could be easily found from govtech org chart and their org sturcture in the website.

There are 150000 public servants in 50 stat boards and 16 ministries. Govtech has 3000 employees. A quick google shows an indeed page claiming that the optimal it support to employee size is at 1:27, which is 2x larger than what we have currently(1:50). Of course this calculation simplifies a lot of things, since we dont include outsourced manpower, but this should give a clue why certain teams only needed 200 ppl to run, while some divisions take up most of govtechs manpower.

These may not seem attractive compared to the WOG apps that can get awards and publicize, but its both legacy stuff that has to be taken up, and also the main items that covers the budgets through cost recovery.(govtech doesnt provide it support for free)

This is literally what GovTech is doing. Out of the 4k employees, only roughly 1/4 are inhouse engineers building from scratch or customizing existing SAAS for projects that deal with more sensitive citizen data (MyCareersFuture, Citizen Distribution System etc) or critical tech like (Singpass, Open Attestation, GCC2.0, APEX etc). Some of these products are also supporting many other government projects. Normal citizens won't have heard of some of these products because they are backend systems for other government projects to use or products meant for organizations like schools, shipping companies etc.

The remaining projects which are mainly projects from ministries and their subsidiaries are outsourced to 3rd party vendors like Accenture and NCS, and managed by GovTech project managers, digital business analysts, and solution architects. As mentioned by post #4230, there are simply too many digital projects in the whole-of-government despite the effort to streamline and cut down redundant systems.

cost savings by outsourcing to MNC so that they can hire cheaper labor from India and do the job?

are u singaporean or traitor? if sg govt do that, singapore will lose core expertise and many jobs will be lost

accenture? are u sure? Wasn't it originally by a company that starts with c and ends with c?

GT manage system? are u sure? Each agency has their own ppl to handle projects by vendors

i have a panel interview coming up for digital business analyst role. was informed there will be a business case study to look at 1hr before the interview. what to expect from this? do i need to prepare deck or anything?

Just say you previously from Indeed. Confirm hire without question.
