Tech policymaking without a tech CE or a solid core of tech staff...not sure what good can come out of it.
If he go to other non-tech stat boards maybe still can la cause non-tech generally less volatile than tech.

As long as it's a dictatorship, doesn't matter if there's solid staff.

He is a perfectionist and cannot accept negative comments. Likes to show his angry face, make everyone (including his exco) all scared la. So expect long repeat discussions and pointless and forgettable whiteboarding.
He likes new blood. When you become 'older', he will downgrade you to the 'useless' or CMI level. Chief of Navy works this way here. Navy must have treated him like same way. Blame them for creating this monster.
Overall, if you want a gd increment, join and no need to stay long. Get in quick and get out quickly. His bias to new people is good for at least a year. The pay is decent. Just take it as a stepping stone to better pay. It is a disadvantage to stay long anyways. At the 8th mth mark, start looking for jobs. If you see it this way, it is an ok place to join.

I burned all my name cards on the night of my last day there. You can tell how angry yet happy people are.

After realising that this place is toxic, how did you guys manage to endure the remaining days there while searching for another job?

Anyone has war stories from being CE's SO? Do you get to sleep? Does he give reasonable deadlines? Require you to work over weekends?

3. He is not able to communicate effectively what he wants, and people start guessing all over the place
4. By the time you're getting closer to what he wants, there are developments and the outline needs to be updated, leading you back to square 1 with him
Some people call it iterating. Iterating my ass. It's a ******** excuse for not thinking through properly the first time, and wasting everyone's time going up and down and up and down on the same material.

To be fair, there is at least a 5th thing. Some Ds die die don't want to listen and keep insisting on their way, writing stuff that LCH doesn't want, or making things unnecessarily complex and with jargon when LCH doesn't like longwinded sentences and just wants people to get to the point. When LCH bui tahan already and summon you for whiteboarding then if you're down on your luck you become the scapegoat.
If you end up in the situation where your D and LCH can't see eye to eye, better to quit than be the ping pong ball tossed around between them.

No. 4 is the one that makes everyone quiet quit and eventually quit for real. 1 ****ing grant takes more than half a year to be approved.
