Firstly, there's already no CEP. So all the questions about default CEP is no longer valid. So when officers are evaluated now, the only question that is asked every year at the ranking table is - is this person a potential Director (LP 9 and above), and if so, what level? E.g. LP9 (Director), LP8 (Senior Director) and so on.

However, if you are talking about before, default CEP is 2 ranks above the level you were hired at. So hired at MX11 (senior manager), means your CEP would have been MX10.

How is LP measured, then? I assume the starting point would be your class of honours and whether you're a scholar, after which it is affected by your yearly performance grade?

I dont know 100%, but i think nobody is an LP9 right from the start unless you are like a president or asean scholar, or safsa scholar. Anything other than those, you are probably a farmer and LP is highly dependent on perf.

Last time is MX11A for farmers. There are PSC scholars, and then within each ministries got their own scholars. There are more scholars than director level positions.

Hi guys, just wondering how does one calculate for CEP? Might be joining public sector soon at one of the ministry. Heard about this whole CEP thing (not sure if it’s still relevant in today’s world). Like do they just calculate based on your degree?

If you are not a scholar, your CEP is default 2 ranks above your entry rank. So you join MX12 your CEP ends at MX11a.

It is very difficult to change your CEP with the new system because there are too many people in service. So it is no longer 2 Bs, but "consistent performance". The reason it has become this vague is because nobody really knows what the benchmark is. It heavily depends on your consistent performance, whether your boss fights for you and whether there is even any quota left after the scholars take their spots.
