I need advice not sure if this is the right thread - joined a min about a month ago is there any chance I can transfer to stat board instead as I would prefer operational side instead of policy?

Maybe because of postgrad. But the paycut is like more than 20% still quite painful need to really consider.

Walao u deprived someone else of an opportunity at this job. How can u suddenly decide after just 1 mth that u prefer ops to policy. My advice is to continue at this current role and for the next yr or so. Hopefully things get better for u.
Quitting after 1 month or so doesn’t look good on your CV, for sure.

1 year is too hard to endure, can quit after 6 months?
else if don't put in CV the 1 month stint at min, will the SB know?

Hi sorry not exactly relevant to the topic, would like to ask if the civil service prefers to hire people who studied certain fields in university or do they just look at the class of honours? eg. would someone with first class honours in biology be disadvantaged compared to someone who studied econs or business with second class upper? assuming that this is for a generalist position
