For resignations typically they take longer to process your pay because of clearance time eg. clearing HR, IT, bosses, HQ etc. to ensure that you do not owe them anything that may be deductible from your salary.

Seriously you are only seeing those more successful private peers. Most of the private may be earning same as you or lower than you at your age.

Any stat board or ministry pays $10k and above monthly?
I am in early 40s and looking to switch but it seems that most jobs in civil service pays less than $10k.
