c'mon friend, your question is also quite unconstructive. i mean, how do we know what the HR is thinking?
To give you a heads up, i applied about 5-8 ministries, and more in the private sector, none of them replied. Give up after 3-5 days and move on. However, if there is an application deadline stated, expect to hear within 1 wk of the application deadline or considered yourself rejected.
if HR is sincerely interested to employ u they will contact u within 1 wk. Otherwise, you might be on the spare tyre list.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
means
from fresh grad 2nd lower degree(as engineer in DSTA), assume annual increment is 5%, and promotion(+17.02%) to senior engineer after 3 years
$3280(starting pay)-->$3444(after 1 year)-->$3616(after 2 years)-->$3797(after 3 years)-->$4443(promotion to senior engineer in the 3th year)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
means
from fresh grad 2nd upper degree(as engineer in DSTA), assume annual increment is 5%, and promotion(+17.02%) to senior engineer after 3 years
$3580(starting pay)-->$3759(after 1 year)-->$3947(after 2 years)-->$4144(after 3 years)-->$4850(promotion to senior engineer in the 3th year)

promotion does not mean becoming senior engineer.
becoming senior engineer also does not increase pay.
typical increment at ard 5% per year and 10% for promotion.
promotion typically happens during year 2 or 3
getting the senior engineer title is only a title which does not give you increased pay.
if the person gets ard 17% during promotion, it could be because his starting salary is below market value.

Is it unlikely that ministries and other stats boards will accept an ex-teacher?
I have applied to 13 positions but no news so far.....
