And the GLC you mention, the annual increment sux is at only 3% annually despite being an ("above average performer, aka grade "B").

GLC where got DS or PS position?? Do you mean your so called GLC os actually a stat board??

I from ST engineering (a GLC), yes the annual increment is only ~3-4%, promotion increment is only ~4-6%. And it really SUX!!
Agreed with what u said. There are many gaps in the passage. Either the write is ********ting or he is trying to cover up many facts. Just imagine. If he indeed has access to DS, he wouldnt be making disparaging remarks about PS. haha

To Bean => Cannot reveal GLC name, else i will have stated on the forum

HR sends out "Welcome message for new recruits". We saw people from our parent Ministry re-deployed to our GLC, so i think we can also transfer from our GLC to our parent Ministry and/or other related agencies (Stat Board).

Yes, this GLC: annual increment really sux. Only compensation is my 16 months total payout per year. $6810 x 16 = $108,960.

Yes is true: DS holds a sabbatical appointment in our GLC as the Big boss. PS is our Chairman in the board. If you are long enough in certain Ministry/Stat board, such arrangements do exist. I did give clue by stating that my PS will move coming 1st April.

To unregistered => I am sharing my story cos I am asking for advice. What's the point of ********ting? In fact, i am incurring risk by writing my story here. If any fellow colleagues or worst case, my boss reads this thread, then things will become ugly.

Do you think that PS always make the right decisions and do the right things? If you have access to DS/PS level, u will realize that they are not perfect and they are just like us from day-to-day work perspective. Only difference is they make the final call/decision.

Question: In your GLC, are there many non-singaporeans (Expats) sitting at senior management level? In my case, almost all are Expats and they are taking us for a ride, seriously!

He's not lying. There is indeed a very big GLC directly under Ministry. And this Pte Ltd "rules" over all the restructured hospitals in Singapore. This GLC is also happened to be a super politicking and "stress" place to work at.

2007: IDA - Consultant: $4200

Resign immediately after revision of 42-days annual leave to 28-days + 2-months Salary compensation

2009: GLC - Senior Manager: $6300
2010: GLC - Senior Manager: $6420
2011: GLC - Senior Manager: $6610
2012: GLC - Senior Manager: $6810

This GLC salary adjustment is Jan of every year. Average 16months per year as I am above average performer but the annual salary adjustment quite pathetic.

I am thinking of writing to my DS to request for transfer to Ministry. Any advice?
My current boss not fighting for my promotion. FYI. I am directly supporting my director. I run the day-to-day operations for him. He don't do much (from UK). Whole day on facebook or attend meetings, that's all. No actual deliverables from him. I learn nothing from him, but instead need to cover his ass for him.

What makes me furious is PS intro DS these team of Expats (UK, australia, etc) and they are all holding director position.

By right, they are suppose to transfer knowledge to locals but they are not. PS changing soon - 1st April, hope DS will do something to swap out the Expats. Not sure whether this will happen though.....sad =(
Eh... you shouldnt have written all these down. With all these personal identifiers, can quite easily find out who you are at MOHH...

It's not transfer. It's called secondment from Ministry to GLC, they have to return to parent ministry eventually. Unless you are employed directly under the ministry scheme, technically it's not possible for you to transfer to ministry. The only route is to resign from GLC and join Ministry. Before that, I would advise that you "secure" your new position with a "boss" (at least Director level) in the ministry.
