I forgive you as I know you are the same poster pleading for people to heed your "good advice" and buy when market is down, pretending like you are a saint. My bet you must be a broker or someone heavily invested. Again this is a salary topic n let's keep to the knitting. By all means, open another thread and sell your whatever learning pts there. For all you know, another wise guy will come in here and plead you to buy bullion...and then oil. You get my point. If your skin is very thick n you think you should continue here (after all nobody can stop you), brace for more vigilante people like me to bump you to another planet.

I hope we will reach 1000 soon so that I can deploy all my cash which is sitting idly.

Stop dreaming. Won't reach that low level anymore. Can start accumulating and keep. Don't miss the boat again.

Did you lose a lot of money from stocks plunging today?
Did you follow the stupid advice of the stupid guy who ask you to buy today?

People who have benefited from the AFC (97/98), SARS (03), GFC (08/09) know what to do.

By next year, they will be trumpeting their new "trophies".

But if you live from hand-to-mouth then, I cant say much.

I benefited a bit from stocks during SARS when it was OVER and from property in 2010 when it was RECOvering from a bottom....easier to catch early recovery then time bottom...

I am 32 years old, female. In IT line.

Earning 126k per annum and 12k annual bonus.
Savings: 250k
Own a 4 bedroom flat solely, brought at 305k and left with 180k loan.
Married with one child

Looking to retire at 55. Currently saving 5-6k per month.

How am I doing?

It is not a good sign if you are unable to sleep at night due to job stress. Like that how to last till 55 in your job?

The bonus amount is pitiful. If you take away the 13th month, it is only 1 month bonus?

By the way, what is a 4 bedroom flat? Is it a jumbo HDB flat? If so, at $305k, you have got a good deal.

At times like this,
A pessimist sees doom and gloom, they run and hide in a room.
An optimist sees opportunity - What comes down must go up eventually.

Also if you have a different view, argue it properly.
