Looks like you are doing well. Not many people live in private properties. Only about 20%. Since you are debt free, you can retire earlier than 55. If you are 50 years old, this is a good age to retire if you are financially successful. Well done!

Never listen to retards who have never worked a day in their life. They're full of ********. The same goes for non-tech workers.

Do your own research and follow your own plan.

Ya lo. Now Fresh Grad market rate is 8k/month base (96k annual) with 3-6 months bonus leh. Go talk to your line manager and HR, you got undercut severely; don't get exploited!

My spouse and I have the option to retire now if we monetise our private property. We are in our early 50s and are debt free.

We can sell our fully paid condo and downgrade to a HDB flat and get $500k cash. On top of that we will also collect $200k cash from our CPF OA at 55. All this will be more than sufficient for our retirement expenses until 65.

When we reach 65, our CPF Life will provide us a combined $60k pa of passive income. Most likely we will only spend $40k pa and can still save $20k pa.

We are seriously thinking about retiring now to relax and pursue other interests. To retire at 65 is too old.
