- I can afford the CPF Life Enhanced Retirement Sum
- I am debt free
- I pay my credit card bills in full every month
- I can afford holidays every 6 months
I am able to devote my time in pursuing my hobbies and passion as well as giving back to society. Retiring at 55 is now becoming more common especially for those who have done well in their careers. There is no need to work any longer just to afford a more expensive home or car. I wouldn’t want to work another 10 years so that I can buy a bungalow. A condominium unit would suffice for my retirement lifestyle.

Fresh grad in tech,
2022 - 5k ( 19k bonus )
2023 - 5.5k ( 22k bonus )
full remote, working for a US off-shore asia team.
hours are basically 12pm to 8pm due to timezone diff, team only comes online at 4pm so that's when i start work.
from 12pm to 4pm i just go gym, read some books, self learning etc
pay sucks but market is really bad, it's either this job or i join some work in office everyday ******** non-faang tech job.
how is it? i feel like im plateauing but at the same time, ive never experienced this much freedom and stress-free life before...

"you have 24 hrs in a day, if u earn less than 7k in tech u are wasting time. go gym so what? healthy also no use, one day some drunk driver kill you how?, stress? you're 25 years old, what stress?"

Everyone has their own way to live their lives. If you are happy, why care what your friends think? Their happiness is tied to the amount of money they earn, but yours is tied to the flexibility to do what u love while earning a decent income. I don't see anything wrong with that.
One drunk driver come and kill their sorry asses, they got money also no life to spend. Lol.
