If your flat is fully paid up, no car, you can live with $1000 per month. You can get this by renting out your 2 spare rooms at $1000 per room. So you earn $2000 per month passive income and you only need $1000 per month.

Don't underestimate the amount needed for retirement. Retirement is all about enjoying your last jubilee years on this reality, this existence, this current present. You can live below your means but is it worth it? What the point of retirement if you are unsatisfied and struggle to make ends meet.

The short answer will be, how much you spend now per month is how much you need per month to retire, or maybe slightly more... I hope people understand not to cheap out on retirement. Aim for the better, not the lowest.
