That is quite a high starting salary. So you have risen to mid management in 7 years?
10.4k is just basic?

10.4k is basic, bonus is usually 4-6 months depending on performance. My level is considered junior management as the company does not practice title inflation. Middle managers are mostly in the 15-25k range.

I am another poster. This is good. I will be in my 4th year of work in 2017. Only drawing 4 K plus but bonus is around 5 months. No where near your 10K by the 7th year.

That is still a good annual remuneration package considering only 3 years of working experience. Around 65k-80k per annum?

I was earning less than 4k with 1 month bonus when I am into 4th year.

TS, I'm in the 'Strawberry' generation too with 2.5years working experience. In IT too.

What I can advise you is don't focus too much on starting salary. Look at opportunities in your present company.

If opportunities suck, look at the skills that you can pick up in your company. Most likely you are in a SME now. Working as IT in a SME has lots of opportunities to learn ALOT. Learn as much as you possibly can within 1-2 years then job. When you job at this stage, you have lots of bargaining power.

You should really not change jobs at 5 months unless there is absolutely nothing to learn in your company.

My starting was 3.3k, and I stayed on because I know I have a good boss and I have all the opportunities to learn as much as I can.

By the end of my 2nd year, I am drawing 5.1k.

So don't listen to all those who says to quit immediately. Think first, plan, and then execute.

Remember, for IT grads, IT technical skills are important. You should pick those up as much as possible at the beginning.

thanks for valuable information. i don think my company is considered as SME as it's under oracle now. but it is just a subsidiary.

i still can learn lots of things at my company but i can't apply them. basically it is just theory knowledge and not practical. the opportunity is quite bad. those who work for 1-2years+ are still doing the same as what i'm doing. very little to none new responsibilities. unless you are the oldest bird there. which is like 4yrs+ and above.

If you feel that there is nothing to learn then i suggest you try searching for another job. Get job offer first then tender.
