I think around 3,000 in civic service? and probably afew hundred dollars higher in private sector. Depends on the size of the company.

Default Good challenge for me.

For quite obvious reasons, only most of those earning a high salary would want to find out what others are earning and would be posting in this thread. Those earning less wouldn't dare post anything! That's the exact reason why I googled "what should a 25 year old make and got here" I had thought I'm doing quite good myself until I read this thread. Notwithstanding it's veracity though, it makes me want to earn more and I like challenges!

I'm a business owner at age 25 making 10-13k a month though I put in 6.5 days work week, I think it's worth it knowing that keeping it this way will allow me to retire comfortably by 40.

Ultimately though, being a happy man trumps being a rich unhappy man, anytime. Of course I'd rather be rich and happy!

Would you mind sharing what businesses are you doing? Had you been profitable on day 1? How did you come up with the idea and what steps did you take to develop the idea?

Any advice for an aspiring entrepreneur like myself? I have worked for 10 years and would like to step out of my comfort zone in search of greater successes and build up something (i.e. a business) that I can call my own.

Sincerely appreciate your comments. Thanks.

I'm in the IT line. It's been profitable since day 1 because it's mainly service oriented and not much upfront costs. That's not to say it's always been that profitable. I started out making $300 a month before I changed the direction of my business into something more focused. IT has always been my interest and with a little bit of luck and research I decided to plunge into it.

It's great to step out of your comfort zone as long as you're sure you don't have any commitments or can afford the commitments. The main reason why many still stay in their full time job is because they have commitments and cannot afford lesser remuneration than what they have now.

Follow your passion and follow what you've always been good at. Everyone around me had told me I'm good at IT and should go into that line. I'm glad I did.

Good luck and I wish you wisdom and success.

Thanks for sharing. Last question: without giving away your business competitive advantage, can you share if you're doing IT projects (e.g. government tenders) or developing software to sell directly to businesses / consumers?

Thanks again. Really appreciate your sharing and encouragement. Wish you the best in your business.

I'm more in the maintenance line. As I mentioned, everyone has their own niche so finding out what works for me won't necessarily work for you. Cheers.
