Breaking bond is a personal decision. You can contact any of the medical chain.

But at pgy2 I don't recommend. Firstly insufficient experience, secondly bond quantum is too big. You probably have close to 600k of bond. Anyway for all round development, should try to do some Ed, rotate thru some paeds, some generic im, derm ent eye Ortho will be a plus.

You will have to work 55hrs per week to get around 15k. 55 hours doesn't include lunch time. Nights are burnt, weekends you have to work. 15k Minus taxes of 1k plus left with 13plus k. Minus bond repayment of 8k per month, so net is just 5k you are actually better off with mohh (after you add in the mohh bonus)
Don't have to work 55 hrs a week. Locum rates r about S$85-90 per hr on average now so about 44 hrs a week to hit $15k can already.

Do any of you know anyone who purely locums for a living?
The flexible lifestyle sounds enticing, but I can't imagine how that would provide a steady stream of income as working hours are on an adhoc basis.

How much do one make as a doctor in the SAF from MO till chief medical officer? And what is the job scope like? I'm quite interested but I don't think many people know much about it.

alot alot. during HO years, they get double pay. about 8k.

CMC isnt likely. odds are 1:30. COC occurs every two years to three years once. so every 3 batches only 1 person can become CMC. per batch about 10 signed on. so 1 in 30 chance of reaching CMC.

but if you like to plan stuff, and enjoy tabletop exercises, executions, the career is quite good financially.

.straitstimes.com/opinion/at-risk-of-producing-too-many-doctors

i dont understand why there is a need to be concerned with oversupply?
if oversupply, then according to law of economics, then decrease wages proportionally. you can get cheaper labour.

Oversupply is oversupply of specialty and consultant positions la dey. At the higher levels of healthcare (non primary healthcare), the medical sector becomes more like a for profit service and less like a public good.

If you have one surgeon, then he dictates the price. If you have ten surgeons, then market dictate the price. If you have one hundred surgeons, then the price can be further reduced.

Having more specialists and gps should reduce price for all. Although some reduction of quality as they dont get enough training

Does MOHH pay for their junior doctors to do MRCP in Singapore? How is that different from MMED?
