Are you sure GP with fellowships are paid 25k at OPS/under chain 17k? Is this with or without bonus? Doesn't make sense that public OPS pays more than private chains?

Take what u read with a big pinch of salt on the internet la
Obviously the guy who spam that info and a list of doc with fracgp is a
Internet troll. Surf around , gather some information and just spam to misled pple

25k per mth as a family physciain with the polyclinic is possible
You just need to be the CEO of the cluster.
You can make about 180 to 250k as head, deputy head of a polyclinic. How many of them in Singapore?
Not a lot la. Also, not many want that job. Very headache one, I get emails sent out at 2am by my clinic heads ok. If want so many headache might as well chiong be a specialist in the first place. Tahan 6 years of night calls life much easier later on.

17k as private hired gp? Possible but u probably working 11 hours a day for 6 days a week. Mostly around 13 to 14k for a few nights and Saturday.

Ops not easy place to work if you want to do a good job. Patients very complicated, everything walk thru the door. Ops prefer m.med doc nowadays for that reason. I find private gp life easier clinically.. Mostly MC seeking, some minor complaints, simple diabetes , hypertension. Anything complicated refer to the poor ops family physician to sort out. But private gp got their own struggles la.

What sort of struggles does private gp (esp those employed under chain clinics) have? My understanding that they mainly do clinical work with little/minimal admin or research commitments, unlike their counterparts in the public sector. And their pay appear to be higher too on average

There are 20 Polyclinics in sg. So 20 Heads and 20 deputy heads.

Many foreign drs in IMC. Not from India or Asia.

I dont think they would work for small peanuts.

Profit driven approach to practice. If working for chain, pressure to show profits. Patient volume. Per patient billing $$$. No one will admit it but these can be considerations when deciding how you practice, what you prescribe etc. No profits....you're out.
The OPS is less focused on profits although it is a KPI for the HOD.

If you really want to practice good guideline driven medicine and cannot bring yourself to look at medicine as a business of profits and losses, $$$ then stick to OPS.

Also in pte, have to really pander to customer whims and fancies and a lot of small talk and PR skill is good. OPS not so much although if you are good with that it will be a bonus.

Hi may I know what's the fastest route to becoming an associate prof in singapore. Roughly how many publications? Must you be first authors in all those papers you published?
