You have been brainwashed into thinking other country is better.
They are the same as you.
If they can't come, then by same logic you can't go to their country either.

Very high number. Just ask any doctor if their parents are doctors. Many are.

But that is also the previous generation who has managed to accumulate a significant amount of wealth (aka the "Golden Age of Medicine"). How about the younger doctors in their early 30s who did not come from a line of doctors? I think the numbers will be much lower.

Golden age of medicine realise that medicine is no longer a good career.
But they have enough $$$ to let their kids do some business.
Few will foolishly encourage their kids to go into medicine.
Thats is why you have so many polytechnics kids coming into nus and lkc.
Not because of affirmative action.
But because the 2nd gen of the golden age of medicine discourage their kids.
So there is a lot of free space.

has anyone actually asked a consultant or is aware of how much they earn?
if a gen med con earns at least 15k with hours like 8-5pm on weekdays and perhaps weekend rounds isn't that a pretty cruisy life (though I dont know for sure what the salary range is)
it's the juniors that are underpaid..

In senior positions you are not compensated solely based on the hours you work but on the responsibilitied you take on. And maybe a little for your "expertise"
