The answer to your very fair question is actually in your question. There are rankings and there are rankings.

Yes. The “bond” period ranges from 6 months to 1 year generally, I believe. But this is typically set out in the training contract itself. If it’s not there, doubt that this arrangement will apply.

All are pay for play including chambers, legal500 and best lawyers. The outstanding lawyers don’t apply for ALB so whoever submits an application is bound to get featured.

You have little idea of how things work. First two cannot pay for play. ALB is pay if you want a large feature.

I am sure you have paid your way into one of those rankings. They don’t operate for free and collecg hefty application fees.

I don’t think any are pay to play. But some actually are respected and others are worth less than toilet paper. It’s always fun to see who decided to go down the used toilet route and then write the inevitable humblebrag post on it. Ifkyk.

Current NUS law undergrad here - already got my TC at a big 4 firm for disputes. How important is getting first class honours to my future in disputes practice? Can anyone share how a first class degree has helped/may help in terms of career progression? Thanks in advance.
