past years used to have 2 big hypos. it's now 20 MCQs with 1 Hypo. But each MCQ has a short paragraph (like a mini-hypo) each. And the answers weren't straightforward like previous years, like oh you glance at it you know it's a breach.
It was legitimately a terrible challenge. Like sure yeah we don't expect to be spoonfed a pass but it was still a rude shock especially vis-a-vis the previous papers we've done.

part b
can i ask ah if you fail one or two subjects at Part B and have to retake, what is the optics on this in practice? it is a big factor pointing toward no retention or salary progression? assuming that my work performance is otherwise good

Ya you fail 1 paper your legal career gone case alr. Prepare to find job outside the legal industry because there is no room for failure here.

my trainee failed one paper and although she passed eventually, she only got offered retention with probation and a 3k pay cut
