The only thing that matters is your work (which involve diff skills from those u learn in law school, esp in transactions), your personality, reliability as a team member, and your ability to build business for the firm (in the future, closer to partner stage).

Also, when you're actually working- you literally won't care about all this. You'll care more about working sustainably and healthily, and having time for your family (planning kids, etc.) and friends.

So, focus on the things that matter. Don't worry about the things that don't. You'll be happier and less miserable.
Finally someone who spoke the truth👍

Are supp papers easier/marked more leniently than main papers for part b? Found the recent part b to be tricky and difficult except fam and civ

If you have a nitpicker as your boss or if they have already marked you, then anything and everything you do can become a mistake.
How to know? Telltale signs my boss already marked me?

Shouts at you everyday and you are left out of congratulatory things your team does. Indirectly blasting your billables and broadcasting to the firm.

Randomly blamed for things you didn’t do, singled out for sake of singling out.

Happened to me before in a toxic liti firm that had many unbearable partners.

Sometimes it ain’t you. It’s the partner. Zao while you should before they fire you.

You can tell by your gut feel. I think it’s the chemistry. Sometimes gender perhaps is a variable, without prejudice to a single gender.

This is really the kind of question that has no answer and therefore should not be asked.

If you have to take a supp, just try your best and don’t think about things beyond your control.

These are the more obvious type.

For the less obvious type, for those bosses who think they are smarter, they may resort to less overt means.

To the OP, Google search for “managing out”, “quiet firing”, see the signs there and do a check how many fits your situation.

Then make your assessment whether to stay on just to have some fun with your boss(es), or find somewhere else.
