Wake up, you still owe me how many drafts. If you stay on track to hit your bonus hours, maybe I can afford to move to Greece next year.

not sure what the latest news is but I heard WKW increased salaries quite substantially a year? ago. Pretty good considering their hours are more reasonable (for non-contentious work at least).

false, cc offers sg qualification training contracts to local students. their trainees join the firm's singapore office straight from law school and they are paid on the international scale from day one. source: s://careers.cliffordchance.com/apac/locations/singapore.html

2.

(a) "The SG training period is 6 months." false, the batch of students who just signed their tcs this month will have to train for a year. this change was announced in 2018. keep up with industry please

(b) cc trainees get a bonus in their second year of training too. if you want to count bonus, the correct calculation is:

baker's pay for initial 2 years: 2.5k x 12 (training period period to get qualified) + 8.5k x 14 (including 2 months bonus) = 149k (average of 6.2k per month)

cc's pay for initial 2 years: 6k x 12 (training period period to get qualified) + at least 7.5k x 14 (including 2 months bonus)= at least 177k (average of at least 7.3k per month)

"You can see that the [cc] lawyer usually makes significantly more up to this point."
LOL baker white knights in shambles yet again

LOL Baker in shambles again... why are baker white knights so defensive of baker.... like if you truly believe you earn more then just be happy with that? If other people have misconceptions about how much you earn then just let it be? Whats the point of writing essays here. Go spend time with your family.

It’s good to quit. Take care of your mental health.
If you’re stressed beyond a certain point, and premature illnesses and sickness, there’s no point with earning $20k a month.

The sobering reality is lawyers are trained to fill every minute with something to do, but the truth is no one can function like that without serious consequences eventually.

Go talk to the partners. There’s seriously ZERO difference between anyone from NQ to 3 PQE.
If can pay peanuts to someone, no reason for them to keep the 2 PQE when much cheaper to employ trainees.

Lol I'm not sure which firm you're at, but there's a big difference between even 1-2PQE and Trainee/NQ.

In my experience the junior associates start to shine around the 1.5 year mark, assuming they've trained with us under the level of our expectations and rigour. That's when they're more or less familiar with environment and truly start to appreciate the bigger picture of the matter and not just discrete parts of it.

With the new 1 year TC, this will be brought forward to ~ 0.5 PQE. Why wouldn't the firm keep them around to make full use of their enhanced capabilities? There's still couple more good years when they're still considered relatively low PQE and not too expensive.
