I'm #3581. No need to be so snarky dude. Just basing it on what was offered in my time. And I'm not super old, called 2015. Admittedly I don't know what the market rate is now. But if that's the starting salary for NQs nowadays then really sucks to be you guys. You're like 1-2 years of increment behind other previous batches who started out at a higher base salary

Yeah. It just means if the firm offers you $4K as a NQ, what other choice do you have? The increase is also low at <$300-$500 a year. (This is good enough in the current market). Stop expecting the $1k raise otherwise you’ll price yourself out. So by third year you’ll probably be stuck at $5.5k.
Only the few lucky ones will be able to jump to international firms.
It may look like a lot of your peers are but a proper sampling would indicate that only 1-5% of the cohort size is fortunate enough to do so (mind you this is not dependent on degree classification, as I said it depends on timing and luck to land an international firm after a few years).

Kinda surveying. I’m an unemployed NQ myself. Just wondering who else is unemployed as all my law friends are practicing already.

i understand your situation. i would suggest you try in-house or go any law firm to gain some experience first. Better than doing nothing at all.

It’s a delisted uni fyi- but it’s one of the better unis that got delisted (eg Liverpool/ Sheffield / SOAS). Known for their maritime law courses. Their alumni have no problem getting TCs after grad. Some practicing at baker / A&G/ R&T now.
