you gg alr, all my b4 friends actively looking to gtfo to in-house and finding it difficult.

you wanna see your competition? look up some of the profiles of the wongp 2019 batch who left that was mentioned in a previous post. its no surprise they landed where they did, despite having only 1 yr pqe.

You do realise chio only last when the girl is 22 yo to 26 yo.
After the many late nights in the B4, most would be quite chui after 27+
So why chase after sth that only last for 4 years...

Everything is hard la don't complain. best way to gtfo is to find connections. lawyers stuck in the industry too long forgot something called survival instinct and business sense. applicants mostly all have sufficient qualifications but it all depends on the hiring manager's little preferences and quirks i.e. are u a right fit enough to be my buddy friend and have my back at all times.

Default Migration options

Anyone thinking of migrating to Australia or Canada where there's low population density and are largely covid-free? I think covid will become a new normal here in Singapore given our status as a hub for everything and the new south asian covid mutation. Plus Australia or Canada are supposed to have better work-life balance pre-covid. Does Australia or Canada accept the NUS LLB?

Okay can’t speak for Canada.
But for Australia, the law firm hours are really good. Even for international firms like KWM, 6pm daily. Ofc you need to be qualified there to practice law.
So as long as your law degree is recognized by them why not.
If it’s not recognized, then do a LLM at one of the Aussie unis

can someone explain this to me lol - why do we still have billing targets for assocs when clients always seem to ask for fixed fees? I find the whole law firm culture so toxic, always looking at utilisation rates and how busy we are and comparing us with our peers
