Can you clarify what is hire into specific teams?

Thank you in advance.

Just to clarify did you interview with the T&M track and if yes, which week was your panel in? Only one team (in the broad sense) is hiring as per my understanding, but I may be wrong of course. Thanks~

All tracks also 1 team that interviewed. So it’s normal.

Well it’s just my own understanding. I think there are specific team(s) in each track looking to hire, and once selected the associate gets to rotate with other teams to acquire skillsets relevant to their final role but eventually they have to return to the specific hiring team.

It’s different from the usual graduate/associate programmes where one gets to rotate across several different teams before deciding on one to join (probably a combination of factors like their interests and the hiring needs).

To have only one team that interviewed candidates doesn’t mean only one team is hiring. I’m not sure if you have verified this with HR. I got kiasu and explicitly asked...

I am not sure if they will look at just the panel round. Probably all the previous rounds as well. Personality, Logical reasoning, Attention, etc.

Exactly... You have top MBA grads (some claim from Harvard), overseas top masters, or local unis, with varied exp and credentials.

Would Harvard MBA overqualified?

In this case it will be miserable to be forced to stay in a specific team within a track after the final rotation that you may don’t like all the way through your career.

This is crazy.

This isn't necessarily true. My friend at DBS mentioned that EMAPs have moved across to different teams (but perhaps in the same overall division, e.g. CBG). Probably a function of fit, needs, timing, and performance, but the point is there seems to be flexibility in the future.
