Weak reason I know, especially for someone who's relatively inexperienced.
No one will tell you how much their salaries are.

Progression seems slow and stagnant when you only had 1 year of experience?

If you have worked long enough, issues like stagnation and high attrition rate are almost seen everywhere.

Need to think long term about your career goals.

I'd say stay for 2 years and then jump. I jumped from 4.3 to 5.8 after jumping from my first role where I stayed 2 years. 1 year may be a little too fast.

I'll say you can start looking out any time, don't need to time 1 year or 2 year more. Once the right opportunity presents itself. Get ready to jump. F

First you need to keep looking out. Start by talking to recruiters and sending out your resume.

On and off you will need to go for interviews and all but it's all part of the process.

What are your views on someone who perhaps has multiple stints of between 1-2 years on their resume (2 or more)? Would this strategy work out past the 2nd time, and employers become more wary that you may just be hopping every 1 year+ for the increment?

It really depends firsthand if you are the right person for the job and possessed the skill sets for this role.

The justification for the job transition needs to be clear and if they are in the same line of related job scopes. Most importantly is the vibe during the interview, if this person can come across as earnest and sincere. that would be most critical.

changes is rapid in banking industry, so I won't bank on someone too much to stay for more than 2 or 3 years.

Take a long term view on your career. After you have worked for a long time, you may focus more on non monetary aspects.

Take time to look out for new roles; it certainly wont harm by staying for another 1 to 2 years.

Perhaps you can share a bit more about your current role and what you aspire to do in future. The last thing you want to do is to hop blindly into a new role that gives better pay but ends up pigeonholing your career in compliance.

Does anyone know whats the growth and pay prospects for reg roles focusing on banking act advisory? At perhaps 2/4/6 years of experience?

Anyone worked in compliance for Chinese banks before either from prc or taiwan? Boc/icbc/Citic/cub/ctbc.

Hows the culture. And pay range or progression like?
