I think those who are desperate should maybe try a job agency to help. At least do some temp job or contract jobs while looking out for perm jobs..

I tried. But it did not work out even though im a native singaporean. Either got discriminate on nationality/married status or reject after final interviews (5-6 interviews). Am married with no kids. Husband still encourage me to keep on my tempo and apply for more jobs. Hope everyone could find a job soon.

If you're really short on cash, I think you can try applying for companies that usually mass hire workers either for events or because of high turnover. Mostly F&B or retail companies. You can apply for other jobs while working part-time or temp.

This is just my response and does not reflect what everyone else thinks

F&B's interview is the toughest. Try for a few hours , performance good you can start. If bad , they will give you a staff meal and ask you to get out ( in a nice way of course ). I know cause I tried Macdonalds.

Retail. Retail is mostly about membership , membership. Fail this and out the door lol.

Great advice but some people like myself have already tried it and failed at it

adding on in another reply cause ( someone one would not allow an edit button for more than 5 mins -_- )

Retail: Retail is mostly about membership , membership. Fail this and out the door lol.
The issue above and also the fact that now we have to pass a retail test set by the retail company. Apple and challenger would be examples

Great advice but some people like myself have already tried it and failed at it

Just got word from jobline that there is a position for a IT helpdesk position.
(Sucks , again IT zzz. ) Why do IT jobs keep coming my way -_-

I am no technician in the first place. If I were to grade myself technically , I would say that I a smart or advanced user. Someone with abit of know how.

In terms of pure technical, I would leave it to some expert zzzz.
Why do I not forsee another 1 year job on my resume -_-

well I need money so anything goes I suppose zzzz

Just spoke to Jobline and I must say I am shocked lol. They told me to rewrite my resume to include the Full Job Description lol. JD who includes a JD into a resume.

I mean who is going read all that junk. I mean all people will look at is what you can bring to the team and nothing else. Weird people jobline .

im honestly quite shocked at the replies on this thread. I'm in my late 20s and currently quit my job recently. have been going for interviews the past few weeks <5 tho I've applied for tonnes. honestly did not know the market is that bad.

anyway i was from a bank call centre before and the turnover rate is high, they are constantly hiring temps/contracts etc.
those who are desperate for a job can try their luck there.

i believe in time we are able to find jobs, its just a matter of how picky you are.
