I think that you should continue searching for IT jobs, as your resume gives you an edge in this field. Have you thought about possibly transitioning to web programming? You could use this period to take up free courses online (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React) to gain new skillsets to increase employability. In the event that employers ask you what you have been doing during this unemployment period, you could also justify that you were actually upgrading your skills.
Regarding your previous job, don't think of it as you sucking. Think that maybe you lacked the right mentorship. Not everyone is able to spot their own mistakes and you were able to see that what you lacked were communication skills with the customers. Now you know what you need to work on.

Got... Every scenario you described I also got experienced before.
Gruelling interview and got accepted.
Easy interview and got accepted.
Smiley interview and got ghosted.
Tough interview and got rejected.

@TakemiShino I'm in a similar boat as you, 32 years old, feel that I suck at / dislike what I studied and worked in (public relations) and thinking of changing career but feeling lost.
Have you tried any of the PCP / work trial by wsg?

Thinking of changing career but feeling lost.?
Are you still working ?? If you are, good for you.
My response below. Comments from anyone as usual
Have you tried any of the PCP::
I have been to the PCP Session at SCALA ( https://www.scala.com.sg/)
After going through the 2 days session , I was told by the staff who did a first round of interview. He then told me not to bother about PCP with the following reason:
PCP requires diploma as a start. So even if I found a job , I might not be able apply cause 50/50 chance. This 50/50 chance is due to my qualifications Higher Nitec. I was also informed that the rest of the PCP besides those at SCALA would all be the same requiring diploma.
Hearing this , I just sighed in the end cause what I thought was a door a open turned out to be closed.
work trial by wsg?
My last Job was from work trial hehe. Still looking at it.
Even if I find what I want , my resume is still a question mark cause of what I have been doing so far. Meantime , I am also looking at fast jobs
https://www.fastjobs.sg/
Adding on:
If someone is going to ask me why I did not go to polytechnic back then, blame the polytechnic entry then. My higher nitec gpa was 2.4. Back then everything in ploytechnic was either 3.0-3.5 -_-.
With so many doors closed and my funds running out , I wonder whats left.
The coffin ??
If only someone can lead me out of this cave into the light where glory awaits.

I have to leave my current company in a few months and will not be employed so I have to find a new job. Plus I’ve been in that company far too long. Got too comfy and did not try to develop my skills or plan for my career sigh.
Sorry to hear about your issue with PCP. I guess not having at least a diploma is really quite limiting at this stage. But they said 50/50, so there’s still a 50% chance? As long as a company is willing to take you and train you, most likely they will continue to employ you if you performed to their expectations, no?
Have you been to e2i / career coaching? Do they have advice for you?
I don’t have helpful advice for you, but I can empathise with those feelings of helplessness and fear of not knowing what the future holds. I know it’s hard, but please try not to despair.

How many job applications have you all sent out and how many interview invites did you get? I've sent out about 300+, got only 10 calls for an interview, so far no offer yet.

Hi,
I have stopped work for a couple of years to care for kids and now I am trying to go back to work. I got a few interviews but never got selected. Is there any way to put across “nicely” the reason for the gap..or any tips for interviews?
