Default Too many people?

Singapore PR - Software Engineer - 27 years.

Resigned because of being backstabbed around 2 years ago.
Then, slack for around 1.5 months then start to submit resume after that.

Got new job after 1 week.

sorry to hear the bad news.. too bad the world is realistic. Once you fill up the application, they will ask about your criminal record. No way to explain, especially versus highly competitive applicants

Default Never Give Up

For those Singaporeans who are still unemployed, just don't give up easily. Keep trying and continue to apply. The right job will come ..... just a matter of time.

Don't worry sis... Keep on trying to apply for your line of job .. As long as your offence is not criminal in nature like cheating and dishonesty kind... I believe you can still find a good job... Eg like if you're jailed for negligence kind of offence or unable to pay fine ...

I think many people made the cardinal mistake of treating government and public sector jobs as a fall-back (last resort) job choice.

Unlike other countries, our public sector and civil service pay competitive wages. So you should approach / treat them as one of your top choices of employment.

In a tight labour market situation, you may still have a chance of getting in the SB and CS as they will have to compete fiercely with the private sector. But in a down market or poor economic situation, the SB and CS will only take in the cream of each cohort. Usually 2nd upper and above honours.

You may have read that even MOE is now cutting down recruitment of teachers. Meaning that they will only take in their own scholars. So those aspiring teachers, not on MOE scholarship will now be vying for other CS and SB jobs or private sector jobs.

Hi guys, nid some help here. I had recently signed a contract job position. The HR told me she will call me to inform me when I can start work after she received my medical report. She said it will take about 3 working days for the medical report to reach her. But it has been more than a week since I last did the checkup and she hasn't called me or anything. Previously when I went for contract signing, I made a wasted trip down the first time as she was in a meeting and did not inform me. Should I continue to wait or I should give up on this job? Any advices are appreciated.

Public sector jobs are my first choice dude. 90% of the jobs I've been apply to are CS/SB jobs. Still no joy (not even interview) despite my having a second upper.
